Astral Projection

Astral Projections

As I started these classes at the same time as my Dr. in Metaphysics, it was interesting taking the 2 classes at the same time.  They, at times were very in sync and one helped the other.
One of the areas throughout the course I enjoyed is the theoretical lessons or just hearing about your views of the different areas and topics.  This gave me a different view and also allowed me to have my own view of the subjects.  You presented other works from a lot of greats in the area of AP.  I’m sure it was meant to give us more to think about and ponder.
When you think of all the places you can travel to and explore in this vast cube.  Yes, cube like a large rubrics cube.  You may think that the yellow square is the one is above you, but just as you move so does it.  Your drawing was interesting and during my RV and travels before taking this class I never thought of this as you described.  When I did my 1st travels many years ago I always walked down the steps into the realms.  Your class opened my eyes ever wider than they have been before.
As you spoke about being gods or god like and that is when I compared it to the person on Star Trak by the name of “Q”.  He can go any place at any time in the universe.  The universe and the heavens were his play grounds.  When he went back in time to show where we as humans came from it was a very strong statement.  It made me see how small the human race really started out as.
A while back while studying RV, OOBE, Quantum Jumping, and others it came to me that if a person can train themselves they could move their bodies using mind and spirit as a whole to another place.  I call this TDT or Trans Dimensional Transportation.  Maybe someday people will not need modes of transportation.
As I spoke with my friend in this astral plane she is an alien from another world.  When I told her I was taking these classes it was strange that we as humans did not have this knowledge already.  On their world it is 2nd nature.  I explained that over time I think our ability to use the mind and spirit together has been stifled.  I’m not sure if this was stifled on purpose or was there a larger picture.  Or as today some believe we as humans cannot handle the real truth about our own minds and spirits.
You pointed out about protecting yourself while moving between planes.  Of all the times I have traveled I have never ran into others who wanted to harm or were negative toward me.  I do make it a #1 item to never approach others on the planes until they approach me.  We are all travelers on these worlds/planes and we make our own way just as we do in real life.  You talked about the shields and wards and these I have not needed.  But you did open my eyes that someday I may need them.
I know now with this increased knowledge that the mind is endless and with the spirit anything is possible.

The Miracle of Prayer

At the start, the 1st discourse I thought, this is going to be long and a real drag. You see I thought I knew what I needed to know regarding the bible. I soon found out that after a few of the exercises really got me on a new life with God. We must have love, we must give love and care for our people that we share this earth with.

Also that we are a family and Jesus is in fact our elder brother. The importance of forgiveness and how it's best to forgive and let go of the matter. That a lot of the time it's us that needs the comfort of saying I forgive you. Sometimes it's your action of kindness and forgiving that shows God's love. I also understand how to pray and what I should be praying about. It's not all about my financial problems. But the opportunity to serve Gods will. For many of the discourses I would spend time seeking God with quite time. I now ask God each day to use me in his work and the best possible way.

We need to go out each day and use our gifts that God has given. I like the saying that It's sometimes better to show God's love in a more practical way then talking. I truly believe that this life on earth that we spend so much of our day's working for bigger and better things. Larger, nicer and more, puts us on the track of no purpose. We are on this earth for just a short time. This time should be used to do Gods business. And use this time as a proving ground for what's to come after we take our last breath of air. What a great course, so much information. I will be using the information for years to come as a minister.

Yes I do feel stronger and more set to serve God.

A Course in Miracles

METAPHYSICAL'S AND MIRACLES
________________________________

BY: REVEREND KURT FONDRIEST
THIS CLASS MADE ME GO THROUGH MY BOOK SHELF AND PULL OUT SOME FAVORITES METAPHYSICAL TEACHER'S WORKS.
DR. ERNEST HOLMES, EDGAR CAYCE, MARY EDDY BAKER, EMMA HOPKINS, LOUISE HAY, THE SECRET AND JUST TO MANY OTHERS TO COUNT.  THIS WAS GOOD. ALL TO OFTEN I THINK WE FORGET ALL ABOUT THOSE BOOKS WE READ AND KEPT NODDING OUR HEADS AS WE WERE FINALLY UNDERSTANDING IT ALL. THIS CLASS FOR ME WAS A JOLT TO RE-VISIT IDEAS THAT SOMEHOW HAD BECOME LOST.
THERE WERE SEVERAL LESSON THAT SEEMED TO RE-AWAKEN MY OWN SPIRITUAL VOICE.
LESSON EIGHT-"INTENTIONS''- THIS ENABLED ME TO RECONNECT TO MY STUDIES IN RELIGIOUS SCIENCE. IT MADE ME THINK AND REFLECT ON WHY I WAS CALLED INTO THIS WAY OF THINKING IN THE FIRST PLACE. I NEEDED DIRECTION. I HAD A TURNING POINT   WITHIN MY LIFE THAT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED.  THIS LESSON ENABLE ME TO REFRESH MY MIND ON INTENTIONS. HOW TO KEEP MY MIND OPEN AND MY SENSE OF CLARITY CLOSE TO MY INNER EYES.
LESSON 10 " THE GIFT OF VISUALIZATION   "NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN" HOW TRUE . THIS AGAIN HAD ME PICKING ONE OF MY FAVORITE METAPHYSICAL MENTOR'S TO AGAIN COME TO CLARITY. NOW I  SAID "TO COME TO CLARITY"  THIS IS A VERY POWERFUL STATEMENT . CLARITY IS USUALLY ASSOCIATED WITH THE MENTAL REALM.  YET AGAIN ALL REALMS ARE NEEDED TO HAVE A  MOMENT OF CLARITY, A TIME FOR A VISION. BASICALLY RENEWING ONES OWN LIFE'S VISION
LESSON 12- " LETTING GO OF"  "GUILT IS THE PROBLEM BUT LOVE AND FORGIVENESS ARE ALWAYS THE ANSWER.  AS I READ THIS I REMEMBER ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS, "THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK". ANNE'S LAST ENTRY IS" I STILL BELIEVE THAT DEEP DOWN INSIDE PEOPLE'S HEARTS IS GOODNESS" ANNE WROTE THIS MOMENTS BEFORE THE NAZI'S BROKE DOWN THE DOOR TO THE SECRET ANNEX. ANNE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AND HAD 'CLARITY' TO WRITE DOWN ONE OF THE MOST PROFOUND STATEMENTS IN LITERATURE AND JUST BASICALLY HUMAN HISTORY.  SHE BASICALLY WAS LETTING GO AND MOST OF ALL FORGIVING THE PEOPLE WHO WERE GOING TO HURT HER.
HOW POWERFUL IF EACH PERSON COULD JUST DO THIS. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS WHERE WE BATTLE OUR EGO'S.
LESSON 16 PART 3 " MIRACLES AND HEALTH" NOW THIS IS WHERE I FELT MY EGO CREEPING IN. I LIVE WITH FIBROMYALGIA A CHRONIC PAIN CONDITION. READING THAT ILLNESS COME FROM MY OWN MIND IS NOTHING NEW. AS I READ THIS I GOT MARY BAKER EDDY'S "SCIENCE AND HEALTH" FROM MY SHELVES. SURELY ENOUGH THERE WAS MY BOOK MARK WHERE I HAD LEFT OFF. I HAD A HARD TIME WITH THIS BOOK.  I THINK THIS IS MY LIFE PROCESS TO UNDERSTAND IDEALS LIKE MIRACLES AND YOUR HEALTH. IT WAS HITTING HOME AND SOME OF IT I WAS NOT WILLING TO LISTEN TO.
THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS I LOVE BELONGING TO ULC SEMINARY. I DON'T HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS AFTER I READ AN ASSIGNMENT, NOR AM I MOVED , ENLIGHTEN OR HAVE A MOMENT OF CLARITY. ALL I KNOW IS CLARITY OFTEN HAPPENS AFTER I READ AND RE-READ AN ASSIGNMENT, BUT MOSTLY WHEN I APPLY IT TO MY DAILY LIFE.
PEACE,
REVEREND KURT FONDRIEST

A Course In Miracles

Let me first begin by thanking Dr. Siani for this most insightful and truly enlightening course. It has been a pleasure to take this journey with her. I have learned much and will apply these teachings along with those taught by other wonderful spiritual leaders and teachers. I believe that we all come from one source and at some point when our current form is longer present or needed we will return to this same source. I know this source to be God. The knowing needs no explanation from a book or any other outside source but comes from deep within the unmanifested space between my thoughts, the inner space that cannot be explained. "The peace that passeth all understanding " as St. Paul wrote. I therefore place my trust in Gods hands and listen to His voice which directs my efforts an directs my mind on a daily basis even when my ego wants to take over. "Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal can exist. Herein lies the peace of God". "This is the fundamental distinction between the real and unreal" as the Course in Miracles reads. This has been the fundamental basis of my journey in this unreal world of perception. To know is a wonderful truth. A truth of love. A truth of God.

The Course states that "Perfect loves casts out fear, if fear exists, then there is not perfect love. But: Only perfect love exists. If there is fear, it produces a state that does not exist". What a simple yet perfect truth which is overlooked because of our unconsciousness. This simple truth produces the state of "miracle readiness" which is a basis for Metaphysics. Of course Metaphysics by its very nature dates back to Aristotle himself who introduced the idea of matter in general to the Western world and the nature of the mind to the body. This than raises central questions of Metaphysics. Mind and matter, identity and change, space and time, religion and spirituality.

But what is Metaphysics? By definition Metaphysics is the branch of philosophy investigating principles of reality transcending those of any particular science, traditionally, cosmology and ontology. It is concerned with explaining the ultimate truth of being and the world. The meaning derived from the Greek words meta' and physika' have overtime become meta to mean beyond; above; transcending and physics referring to those works on matter. Therefore, metaphysics is also the study of that which transcends physics. There are three parts which comprise Metaphysics.

First being Ontology of the study of Being and existence which include definitions and classification of entities, physical or mental, the nature of their properties, and the nature of change.

Second. Natural theology, the study of God which involves topics the nature of religion and the world, existence of the divine, questions about Creation and numerous religious and spiritual issues that concern the humankind in general.

Third. Universal science or first philosophy. "Being in terms of "being". Topics such as causality, substance, species and elements, as well as notions of relation, interaction, and finitude.

In most cases, subjects that can be taken with regards to any of the metaphysics questions are endorsed by one or another philosopher or student. In some cases, subjects of metaphysical scholarship have been found to be entirely physical and natural, thus making them part physics proper as is the case with Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity. There are those of course who are critical of Metaphysics. This is in part attributed to the ego and the lack of understanding based on fear. It does not matter what the opinions are to me because I accept them as they are. This is to accept the unacceptable or not to accept the unacceptable. This is the choice we all inherently share.

I submit and have learned that one can only be present because that is all there ever is. No past or future will ever change the fact that there is only the present. The future will come as the present and things accomplished in the past were done in the present. The present is where God exists. This is the meaning of "I am the Alpha and the Omega" or as Jesus said "before Abraham was I am ". This is beautifully illustrated in this course by Dr. Siani. Humankind has become addicted and become a prisoner of its own thought. The non stop thinking and creating of illusions. There can be no spiritual awakening until this creating of illusions coupled by fear ceases. There can be no God consciousness until we let go absolutely of ego. We may get glimpses of it until we allow our thinking to once again take over. The key is to practice presence. Allowing things to happen and not trying to force the true nature of things not in our control. Patience, love, surrender and forgivness. "Miracles happen to miracle minded people". This is a lesson that have relearned in this course. Miracles are all around us. It is in the knowing that they occur and it is in the knowing that we receive them.

As I continue my journey I try and look within rather than only without. The inner awareness that awakens the formless essence of who we truly are is only part of the God consciousness that we all posses. The ultimate transformation that will eventually occur in us all goes far beyond any human understanding. Yet this transformation must occur in order to close the gap of separation from God. When this occurs nothing unreal can exist and nothing real can be threatened.

I send you my love and may God bless you all on your journey.

A Course In Miracles

I have been studying ACIM for the last seven years. I cannot discuss it with the average Christian in the Bible Belt area in which I live. It is very metaphoric and requires deep thinking but most of all a willingness to question how one could be among the few that was lucky enough to be born in the Bible Belt and to have all the answers to Spiritual questions while the rest of the world is wrong.

At first I had problems believing that a person claiming to be an atheist would have Jesus come directly to her to enlighten our generation about our mis-guidings about the real truth of the Bible and the teachings of Jesus. Still, something kept me reading and searching for more on line and local classes to help me understand it. Seven years later and a study of the book almost daily, along with the classes I have taken, I find myself with an inner peace I never knew possible. I pray in a totally different manner now, not "Why me Lord?" but "What can I learn from this?" I bless with gratitude my pain as much as my joy for I learn from both to be a better person.

Forgiveness has a total new meaning to me. I no longer forgive because it is the Christian thing to do because God said to do it, but I forgive because we all fall short and to forgive others is to forgive myself when I fall short. Now, I see myself not as separate from others, but one with others, even one with Mother Earth. I bless a blooming flower, singing bird and falling leaves or dead leaves for I am one with them, as well. A car with a handicap stick drove up and suddenly cut in front of me and too the parking place I had been waiting for while the lady was putting away her groceries in the back seat. In the past something like this would have had me fuming not just all day but perhaps for several days. This time I just thanked the Universe that I was not in as much pain as usual and perhaps I could walk a longer distance this day and perhaps the man that took my parking place could not, and I sent him the energy of inner peace and love that I had come to know since I had been reading ACIM.

Fear, shame, and guilt had been the tools I allowed others to use to control me all of my life but now I attempt to stay so forced in divine love that those games of manipulation no longer work on me for perfect love cast out all fear.

In my garden is where my peace seems to unfold daily in my meditations. There are rabbits that come and sit in perfect stillness. Their big eyes seem so wise as if finding a special inner peace. I painted one and put it up by my deck to remind me to choose peace always by refusing to judge, forgiving others and myself, and having a deep gratitude for the simple beautiful things in life. When I am tempted to go the old ways of my past I look up and read "I can choose Peace, instead of this" and I do.

From where ever ACIM came there is a wisdom there that supersedes even the Bible, that gives clarity and understanding to the teachings of Jesus and it has colored my life with JOY … and if there is ever to be a path to peace, I think the teachings of this book will take us there.

Miracle of Prayer

The Miracle of Prayer course was one that I completely enjoyed. It does a wonderful job of taking the concepts from A Course in Miracles and bringing it to a level of understanding so that it can be applied. Each lesson took a concept that I had difficulty with when reading A Course in Miracles and explained it in a simple, yet thorough, way.

I loved the lesson on forgiveness—it completely resonated with me. I learned there are many types of “forgiveness to destroy”. It is an arrogant type of forgiveness that feeds the ego. As a result, it creates negative feelings, guilt and a sense of superiority because you as the person doing the forgiving must be better than the person who wronged you. Any type of forgiveness that causes a sense of guilt is destructive. Forgiveness is supposed to free, not bind the individual. True forgiveness is done for us through the intercession of the Holy Spirit. We cannot do it on our own, but lift it up to God in prayer and let the Holy Spirit do its work.

Another concept that really stood out was the whole concept of prayer as being communion with God, not asking God for preconceived specific solutions. As ministers of God, we must learn to be open, patient and wait for the real answers to come from God through the Holy Spirit. We are teachers, not mediators.

What I got out of this course was much more than I ever would have imagined. I learned that things I have not forgiven in others are the same faults I see within myself. Doing the prayer exercises and visualizations brought me complete peace of mind. The insights that I gained through the new perspectives that this course gave me allowed me to heal my fears and approach everything with love and forgiveness as well as remember to see the Christ in everyone.

Thank you for making this course available. In the past, I had a very difficult time understanding A Course in Miracles. After taking this class, I have a renewed enthusiasm for going back and studying the Course again with a better perspective!

A Course In Miracles

I Choose Love By Harriet Spradley-Thompkins

Man's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes~

After taking this course, the above quote by Oliver Wendell Holmes became alive to me. I learned that we are governed by our past and belief systems. Because we have no control of what cultural or family we are born into, we have no control of our early belief systems. For example, religion, when one is born into a Catholic family; they simple identify themselves as Catholic. The other day I was having lunch with a former co-worker. Beginning of the meal he said grace and then the “cross” thing. I looked at him with puzzlement. “I can not help that I am Catholic” he said. I thought to myself, he is doing this ritual not because he truly believes in it, he was doing it because what he was programmed to believe.

Your belief system is the actual set of precepts from which you live your daily life, those which govern your thoughts, words, and actions. It is difficult to change a person’s belief system. However, once the mind is stretched to a new belief, it can not go back to the original thought. This has happen to me in this course. I once believed that a miracle was some mammoth event like winning the lottery or being healed from a terminal illness. I believe now that a miracle is a correction in perception. It is a correction in how we perceive and how we think. There is no world outside us. It is only a projection of what is inside us; we are responsible for choosing to think from the ego or from the Love of God.

According to Reverend Loretta M. Siani, Ph.D. in Lesson #4, we can choose to be guided by the limited, self-absorbed thinking of ego that is always trying to get things from the world and projecting its judging, analyzing, and demanding thoughts onto it. Or, we can choose to be guided by the loving awareness of our true, spiritual selves that accepts life, offers peace and wants to extend, share and give to the world.

Ego is the cause of the "I" syndrome (I want), making us feel separate and alone, or telling us we can run things better our own way. Ego acts only for the self. Love helps you to realize that there is no self, that we cannot be separate, for as soon as one person affects another person for good or ill, they are joined by that experience. In witnessing or even hearing of their experience we are then joined to them, and that makes us a "we". If the experience was through Love and good we all benefit, if the experience was caused by the traits of ego, therefore bad, we all suffer, for we are all one.

The only thing that truly heals is undoing the belief that we are separate from God, which is where our fears come from. When your mind is really healed, it will not be a burning issue for you. It does not mean that the tumor will not disappear. It just means that your investment will not be in having it disappear. Your investment will be in having peace in your mind. Remember Love casts out fear. That is why I choose Love.

A Course in Miracles

Doctor of Metaphysics Essay
Michael S. McGee, MS, LPC, Mht
ULC Seminary

The Course in Miracles has to be one of the most beautiful and difficult life courses to undertake. I have started the lessons at the back of the text every year in January for the last decade and usually lose track in April or so. It has been frustrating. But, as the Course states, “this is a required course” the only choice is when you will eventually complete it. I was excited to begin these classes and have not been disappointed. The meditation CD, “In the Middle of Know Where” by Loretta, was one of the most helpful meditation/trance tools I have ever used. I make my own and they are not near as well done as this one. I immediately began to use the CD daily and study the materials. I have to say, this has been a healthy life altering experience for me.

First, I decided that I would define what would be considered a miracle for me. Something, I could use as a measure of my success that had seemed impossible for me to achieve before. I have been continually upset by the actions of the administration where I work my “day” job. I reacted to most of their decisions as if they were personal insults. This was a key indicator that I was allowing my ego to dominate my thoughts with fear/attack models of reality. So, I decided to take the time to really allow myself to forgive both myself and them through adhering to the methods of these lessons. Second, based on simple benefits such as peacefulness, lower blood pressure, and reduced physical illnesses. I would estimate my progress. Third, I would monitor my thinking to see if I was progressing towards higher energy thoughts and reduction or elimination of low energy thinking dominated by attack or fear. Finally, I would note any synchronicities that indicated my change in thought was allowing me to experience everyday miracles.

I have over 200 hours of formal training in hypnosis and many years of experience in psychology/therapy. So, the information on levels of mind and functioning, was mostly a review for me. I see the strong similarities between the information provided here (and in the Course), psychotherapy, cognitive therapy, and particularly, Edgar Cayce’s work “Mind is the Builder”. As I write this, it seems that my Ego is awaiting recognition here. This is interesting.

Anyway, my preoccupation with unfair practices at work began to appear like one of those problems that are incapable of solutions that the ego loves. The amount of skepticism and suspiciousness was becoming overwhelming. I was in a most unhealthy state. I was like a swinging pendulum moving from under inflated victim thinking to over inflated I deserve more thoughts. The more I used the meditation CD and read the lessons, the easier it became to stop. And, the easier it became to imagine my connection to spirit in ways that helped me to feel more connected to the source and others. This still brings me to state of compassion I had not felt before. This helps me to laugh at myself when I do forget instead of condemning myself and others.

A lot of this comes from the reality that there is no separation from anything. The course tells us that separation is illusion. Now, science tells us the same thing. Quantum physics indicates that we are all a part of an infinite field of energy. I see this as just another way of saying the same thing the course teaches. There is NO separation. The world is illusion. There is only oneness and love in reality. The split in mind, including the levels of consciousness are all illusion. It is all a matter of perception. We perceive what we believe. We are taught to fear from an early age and go from fearless/loving child to egotistical/neurotic messes. But, we can change our thoughts and change our perceptions. We can be in this illusion but not of it. We are always in touch with spirit. We just need to remember it. So the madness of ego, fear, guilt, and blame, is just a silly game that makes no sense. If all are one and god loves all of us (how could god be so egotistical as to hate a part of itself), then, we can love and let go. All is God. God never dies or has to worry. So what do we really have to fear? No worries. My first breakthrough was to understand that if I experienced anything besides peace, no matter if anger or fear, etc. then, I was forgetting. I merely had to return to love. As I said, the CD and lessons were the best way to keep me on track. Plus, these lessons were just easier than reading the Course.

I continued with daily meditation for the entire time and still have not missed a day. I focus on positive or as I prefer to say, “high” energy thinking, by maintaining awareness. I began by making a vow that I would not use low energy or fearful language. My desire was to not speak unless I could make the message high energy. I can remember a lot of silence. Sometimes, I just could not get out of ego thinking and had to be silent while I processed just how confused and “mad” I had been. The truth is that I still have many silent days. The difference is I laugh at myself now as opposed to giving myself a hard time and increasing the fear responses. For a while many of my colleagues thought I was losing my voice (or my mind). In a way I was losing my mind and still am. I am losing the part of my mind that forgets to Love. It is bigger than ME. ME is not even real anyway. I also find that more of my co workers are now open to me in ways they had never been. Many of the difficulties I experienced were due to my own lack of Love. That was my first true “Aha” indicating a new awareness of miracles in my life.

This led to an enhanced experience of responsibility for the circumstances about me.

I could really begin to notice how my belief in how things are shaped them. So, I began to strongly imagine things as being abundant and safe. My business increased, my health improved, and relationships became closer/deeper. I began to feel a sense of relief from fear. I noticed that some people around me appeared uncomfortable with my new sense of peace. They wanted me to be afraid of getting hurt, getting sick, losing money, and many other common fears. When they did not receive a proper fearful response, they appear to feel the need to convince me to be afraid. It became a pretty funny game. I named it the “Michael is crazy and needs to afraid” game. The realization was most strong when one speaks out as not fearing death. Surely, one is mad if they do not fear dying. Personally, I believe I may have become fearful if I thought the physical body was really me or this world was all there was to existence.

So, I am continuing to use the intention exercises, the meditation, and I have started to work the Course again. These lessons have helped me to make the teachings more a part of my life by simplifying them and putting them in a more easily digestible form. I am not perfect. I still “practice” every day. It seems that my love actually influences many of those around me without me having to say a word. We are all one after all.

I pray to be a channel for god’s intention. I pray my ego never clouds the message. But mostly, I pay attention. So that I may not allow the influence of fear to attract things I do not want into my life. I take each challenge in stride. I spend many hours every day reaching out in love to others helping them to empower themselves and improve their lives too. I never forget to pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit each day. And finally, I am open to the spirit’s answers. This is a great seminary course and has helped to change my life.

Thank you.

Michael S. McGee, LPC, Mht, MS

Miracle of Prayer

Final Essay Dr. of Spirituality – The Miracle of Prayer

Rev Sharon J. Mayer

Prayer. Each religion has a form of prayer and from an early age we are taught to pray in one form or another. For those raised in a Christian home the first prayer may have been “Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take.” This might be followed by “God bless…..” sometimes involving a very long list to keep from having to go to bed. Then there was a prayer of grace before eating. As the child grew up they were exposed to the “Lord’s Prayer” during church services as well as other prayers... Some children understood what prayer was about and some just mouthed the words.

Now there are churches that tell the parishioners that if you pray hard enough and believe enough you can have any thing you want including all the money you might want, a new car, home etc. Just pray and follow the Prosperity Gospel and it will be given to you. If these items don’t come the person is told they did not pray hard enough.

But are these prayers correct? Is that the proper way to pray? What is the Lord’s Prayer really about? Why should we pray with love and continually? The lessons in Miracle of Prayer explain what we are to be doing and how to correctly pray. It teaches to use prayer for thanking and thanksgiving, for a means to receiving the bountiful blessing we are entitled to. This doesn’t mean fancy cars or unlimited funds but our needs being met on a day to day basis.

I use to ride to work with a wonderful gentleman who was a preacher from Africa. He would have a conference call going with abut five or six people each morning and they would be praying in French and other languages. Every other sentence was a thank you to God. This kept up for about a half an hour as we rode along. I could not understand all that was said but I could understand the thank you that punctuated each sentence of each of the people in the group that were praying. I would be so uplifted and calmed by the experience each day. I was sorry when our schedules changed and I no longer rode with this person. Until I studied the lessons in Miracle of Prayer I did not understand the reason for my uplifting was that all of us were joined in thanking for our particular blessings of the day to come even before they happened. Because we did the thanking the best happened to each of us. It was a wonderful experience. As taught in Miracle of Prayer the people in the group believed that they were in communication with God and he was in communication with them on a personal basis. These trips to work and the wonderful feeling I got from the experience were the beginning of my quest for a way to spread the love and my joining the ministry of the Universal Life Church Seminary.

During the class we were asked to try praying for someone and some things and to report what the experience led to. I found that when I went into the day thanking before hand that there were more good things that would happened then bad. I was calmer and more focused on what needed to be done then distractions caused by the bad things that might happen or in some cases did. With a prayerful and thankful heart I was able to bring a thankful day to a close.

I don’t get riches or extra goods when I pray now. I do find that each day I have what I need to be able to get through the day and provide for what is needed. I see that funds seem to go farther and if something is needed it seems to be taken care of without as much fuss and bother. That is the Miracle of Prayer. The ability to handle what happens and to receive what is needed to go forward. It took me many years to understand this with all the outward distractions and false ideas I had about prayer. I am richer for having taken the course and receiving a good understanding of prayer and what to expect. Do I always get an answer – yes – Is it what I wanted? Not always but my needs are taken care of now that I know what to look for and what to expect.

The lessons were well written and using the Course In Miracles and the companion book on prayer helped with the understanding of the material. The excellent course by Rev Siani was what made me purchase the books as I am a person who needs reinforcements to reach a better understanding; and to be able to actually see the parts of the books cited and read them along with the lesions was a wonderful way to enjoy the lessons in a richer and fuller manner. The course was a great revelation and the lessons are stepping stones to further study and contemplation.

A Course In Miracles

Throughout this course Love has been mentioned. Lightworkers in general, and those who follow New Age beliefs often mention Unconditional Love. Many of them claim to love everyone, but if you really pay close attention to some of their comments, you soon realize that this is simply not true, there is one person that they do not have Unconditional Love for, and that one person is themselves.

True Unconditional Love has to start with ourselves, until we love ourselves unconditionally, it is impossible to love others unconditionally. Lets forget about others for the moment and concentrate on ourselves. How can we know that we do not love ourselves unconditionally? It is really very simple. If we find ourselves getting angry at someone because of their actions or speech, unless they are doing something to harm us or someone else, it is because they are reminding us, if even only subconsciously, of some aspect within ourselves that we do not like. The guilt of that aspect makes us project anger at them.

Having determined that there is something within us that we don’t like, we cannot feel Unconditional Love for ourselves. And since we are angry at someone else, obviously we do not feel Unconditional Love for them. Unconditional Love is not judgmental, it judges neither ourselves nor anyone else, it simply accepts all as they are and loves without conditions.

If we find ourselves becoming angry about other’s behavior or words, it is time for some serious soul searching and meditation. We need to find out why we feel that anger, and then to rid ourselves of the cause.

If we can almost immediately come up with a reason that we are angry, it is very likely that we have not really found the cause, only an excuse. If on the other hand, we do find the cause, it may be a secondary cause of an even deeper aspect. So we need to eliminate the secondary cause and then find and eliminate the original cause.
Only once all of the things within our makeup that we don’t like have been eliminated can we find Unconditional Love for ourselves and others.

A Course In Miracles

Doctor of Metaphysics Final Essay
By: Rev. Cynthia Ewing

Taking this course has been a pleasure. It was nice to learn about A Course In Miracles. I have read about
it in different books and have heard other people mention it in passing, but have never truly looked into it myself. This course uses the teachings from A Course In Miracles all throughout this lessons. I also found that many of the lessons presented were things I already have known about or were working with.

There was one lesson that made me think of another person I work with. It was lesson 17. This lesson
talks about relationships. I found the holy and unholy relationships fascinating. This man that I work with
has been having relationship problems with his wife.  He has been trying everything he can to help fix the marriage. His wife on the other hand is constantly blaming him for all their problems. This to me at least seems like an unholy union. A holy union is where each person already knows what they want and are
focused on achieving it together.

These lessons talk a lot on the basic level. They introduce you to the three minds the conscious,
unconscious and the higher mind and explain their functions. It also talks about how this world was
created by a dream of separation from God. Our whole lesson here is to find our way back to God and his
limitless love. The Ego tries to keep us from achieving this goal every chance it gets. I know mine
still tries to play with me every now and then. I have had an under inflated ego growing up. I was completely
stifled by my mother. Once I moved out of the house it was no longer under inflated. At that point I knew nothing of about spiritual teachings I was only 18.

This course also spotlighted on our thoughts. We create what we think and say. If we speak in the negative all our higher self hears is positive. If we say we do not want this to happen it believes we do want it to happen. We need to change our thought patterns since we are not our thoughts, but just choosing them.

This course also offered meditation as a way to get in touch with our higher selves, relieve stress from
our physical bodies and create rest and balance.  During meditation we move out of a state of fear and into a loving state. It brings us closer to God.

This was a very pleasant course to take. I believe everyone will get something from it whether they are
just beginning their spiritual quest or are seasoned veterans. We all find something new with each lesson we are dealt. Thank you for the experience.

Metaphysics and Miracles

Metaphysics- the Miracles of Spiritual Living

Final Essay Rev. Lucinda Parker

In 1996 as a result of a personal incident I thoroughly studied A Course in Miracles. I had no phone, no tv, no job and a real need to discover. Dr. Loretta M. Siani’s, course is absolutely the best discussion of the ACIM philosophy I have ever seen. She has remained true to the teachings and thoughts of ACIM. It was a great review for me. It actually was a wake up call for me.

The lessons are well thought out and logically organized. Letting go, surrendering our egotistical beliefs, learning to accept and pay attention, performing true miracles in our own life are the core philosophy of ACIM. Dr. Siani takes each principle and explains, expands, and makes one really think. Most importantly, this course makes us personally and spiritually act.

I needed a refresher in some areas. This course came into my life, again, at the right time. And while I am not suffering from any personal dramas at this time, this course made me realize that I was straying from my own personal power ever so slowly, but ever so definitely! Even what we envision as success can cause destructive imbalance within our life, and I was headed there.

The most important lesson, and the one I was totally forgetting about, particularly at work, is about perception and being right. We get wrapped around ideas that we think are the only truth, that we must be right. That ego within us will destroy us. As I worked through the perceptions and beliefs that I was feeling at work, I realized I needed to realign my thinking and adjust my behavior. I’m glad to report that the stress and frustration I was feeling two months ago with individuals at work is gone. I can see the situations and people for what is really occurring. I don’t come home upset anymore and the stress dreams have stopped.

Thank you for offering this course in Miracles. I enjoyed it and it has put me back on track.

Metaphysics and Miracles

Dr. of Metaphysics Essay
By Rev. Chad Daniel Ferguson

Thank you so much for delivering such an impressionable course of instruction. Each and every discourse had something in it that related directly to my life. As I studied, I could “see” myself realizing problems and solving them in my mind. Even though I have prior experience with mediation, visualization and self-hypnosis, the course gave me fresh tools and new direction to be more productive when trying to understand my own spiritual journey according to God’s plan.

As I think of this course, I’m reminded of a simple garden. If you really examined one, you have witnessed a miracle because God has created this garden. Upon closer inspection, the petals of the flowers display their own individual design upon each stalk. Some are strong and others weak, some sprouts are young and others are about to fall to the ground. Yet, all of the petals co-exist on the same stalk in unity as part of God’s design.

As a species, human beings are like the petals. We are all different yet alike, occupying the same stalk or world. If people were to think from a higher mind at a young age, would the ego of the world then fall off the stalk and be replaced later by responsible adults that chose not to go through their natural cycle of life without the limitations of the conscious mind? Not thinking from the ego but by choosing to live a more rewarding and happy life by making miracles manifest everyday.

“We are responsible for what we think!”, if only that was a natural instinct and wasn’t something that has to be taught. For me this was the most impressionable statement throughout this course. No flower needs to learn to be responsible. But, for us human beings, understanding and cultivating our higher mind is our responsibility and is essential to our spiritual development. The Holy Spirit shines on all of us and we should receive God’s love in a natural way, much like flowers receive sunlight. Accepting and non-judgmental, the flowers do not project an ego so they do not grow outside of God’s plan or disrupt their neighbors with illusions that have manifested inside themselves.

Of course flowers don’t have an ego. We do. It’s that ability to make intelligent choices that makes us who we are. We have the ability to study and understand our conscious, subconscious and higher minds. I would hope that each person could learn to practice recognizing the truth behind the illusions we create, and then let them go. It’s this power that lets us experience the miracles given to us through God’s love and then sharing that love with our neighbors to unify our world. Maybe we can free ourselves and appear to God like the beautiful garden. Only then can we rejoice in the now, harmoniously living in the serenity of the higher mind and in acceptance of our own connectedness to the universe.

I believe that daily meditation and inspiration are our duty to the divine. We should practice overcoming our limitations and assisting others in doing the same. We all have purpose and the sooner we begin to live our purpose, the sooner we can live happier, more fulfilling lives. If you wonder what one thing you can do to benefit yourself, your family, community and even the world? Challenge yourself to discover or create miracles in your life and let it be your purpose.

Brightest Blessings
Rev. Chad Ferguson
