Seminary Program

This is where we post the essays from many of our Universal Life Church Seminary students. When students finish a ULC course, they write a comprehensive essay about their experiences with the course, what they learned, didn't learn, were inspired by, etc. Here are their essays.

Spirit Quest

Spirit Quest through ULC Seminary
Spirit Quest -the start of a journey

Rev. Lucinda Parker

Spirit Quest is a 30- week start for a life long journey. At times I wished the class discourses arrived more than weekly. I’ve been trying to live spiritually for many years and found some great ideas and practices in the lessons. It is apparent a lot of work and love went into the creation of this class!

Ideas from many different thinkers can be found within this class. Louise Hays, Isaac Bonewits, traditional Buddhism, Native American and ACIM while not directly quoted are evident within the lessons. This is an essential class for those who are just exploring and experimenting with spirituality and the sense of Self. Experienced travelers will also find that even though the lessons are review, they are good review. As ministers, this class is a wealth of information in how to help not only ourselves but others. Many of the exercises and lessons can be tailored to assist others whom come to us for help.

As a rose grower, I couldn’t mentally blow roses up so I simply started blowing up hot air balloons . The point of the meditations and imagery is to make it work for you. Some people may find that blowing things up isn’t a good mental practice. They may prefer to have the wind blow the negative energies away. As ministers, we need to be aware of what imagery works with others.

I liked the lessons on time and money. While they weren’t new to me, they were definitely good reminders of how to deal with, and actually be happy with the tools we have to work with. Ever heard a sparrow ask you what time it is and then rush off to a meeting? Many of us unnecessarily become slaves to time. I felt the same after reading the lesson on money. We view it as the root of all evils. It is not. The lesson will remind you, or teach you, why.

Rev. Amy put a lot of work into this class. It is definitely worth the 30-weeks!!! The only thing I might add would be some web links or maybe some music to go with some of the lessons. Fancy extras that don’t improve the solid content of this wonderful seminary class.

*******************************

The Universal Life Church is a comprehensive online seminary where we have classes in Christianity, Wicca, Paganism, two courses in Metaphysics and much more. I have been a proud member of the ULC for many years and the Seminary since its inception.

The Universal Life Church offers handfasting ceremonies, funeral ceremonies and free minister training.

As a long time member of ULC, Rev. Long created the seminary site to help train our ministers. We also have a huge selection of Universal Life Church  minister supplies. Since being ordained with the Universal Life Church for so many years and it's Seminary since the beginning, I've watch the huge change and growth that has continued to happen.
